The Beauty Of Grace

I found a really good video on GodTube by Krystal Meyers!
I really wish they had it on playlist!

Shopping!

Tomorrow is the Alabama State day for no tax on clothes, shoes, and school supplies etc. !
My mom and I are going shopping tomorrow early in the morning and probably will shop a lot!
I really hope I'll be able to find some shoes! It seems pretty hard to find them though, since I'm about 2 sizes bigger than my mom :[
We will leave early and bring snacks with  us, since we will probably get hungry while going from place to place.

My mom and I have been looking at a really cool site that is called Christian Logic.
It teaches you to think and to use logic, which is extremely important. I laugh whenever I use the word '' logic'' because I think of the saying from Professor Kirke in The Lion , the Witch and the Wardrobe:  " What DO they teach them in these schools??!" Haha!!! Now here is a site that teaches you logic, and it is fun!

Scams, spam, and gimmicks my oh my!!!

I absolutely hate scams, spam emails and gimmicks!
Today I was putting a song on my playlist and there was a little box that popped up that said:
" find out who has a true love crush on you in mobile!" YUCK!!!
How these things pop up I don't know! And how these things know I live in Mobile is even more scary! What was really bad is that there was an x by the corner that usually means if you click on it you can ignore it. I clicked on it and and instead of it going away, it lead me to it's site!
Ugh. I couldn't click off of it, and I tried to shut the computer off, but it wouldn't do it!
Finally, I forced it to shut down and restarted it. I HATE THINGS LIKE THAT!!!!
And, what was almost funny is that on the site, it asked if you are a boy or a girl or something like that! Seriously, if that was a real thing, ( which it wasn't! who would want to know if someone liked them anyway!) they would already know! I can't believe people are stupid enough to believe stuff like that anyway.
Please excuse my writing like this, but it just happened :]
Anyway, I really hate scams etc!

One more penny!

I've been saving up for a puppy that will cost $400, and it seems like an impossible goal.
Today, when my mom and I were at Kohl's, I found a penny!
Usually, I'm not overly exited about just one penny, but I realized that one more penny actually helps me towards saving up all that money. Right now, I have $ 378.22 left to make, so that means I have to make about 400,000 more pennies.
I have never  appreciated one penny so much!
Believe it or not, I'm going to write it down in the notebook I record all the money I've made, and how I  made it! It will look pretty funny though!

What I've been reading lately....

I decided to put a list in here of some of the things I've been reading this month. ( and what I thought about it!) Here goes!
I liked all but the last one.

  • Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte       ( pretty good, though very strange! Could have been better, the author definitely has talent!)
  • Great Expectations by Charles Dickens      (excellent, though it was a little strange also. much better than Jane Eyre!)
  • The Iliad  by Homer   ( good, but I like The Odyssey better. )
  • Out of the silent planet by C.S. Lewis  ( very. very good! Has become one of my favorites already!)
  • Belles on their toes by Frank Gilbreth jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth ( the funniest book ever! I liked it even better than Cheaper By The Dozen!)
  • Julie by Catherine Marshall    ( the only book I've read of hers that I didn't like.

More Cleaning!!!

My grandparents are coming in town Sunday night!
We've been cleaning our spare bedroom up for them. Since we have had what seems like LOTS of garage sales, there is literally tons of stuff piled o the beds and floor. Oh, how I dislike going up and down the attic to put stuff up there, but I think that's what the future holds  :)
I'm glad they are coming though! I think they'll stay about 3 days or so.

Sewing Doll Clothes

Today I finished sewing a doll apron. I've been working on it since last night, because I had never sewn a apron. Yesterday I sewed a skirt; the kind that I've helped my mom make when we were reenactors. It was a drawstring skirt, with a lace sash.
It's REALLY cute and pretty , with pink and cream flowers on a dark green back ground.
One of my friends has the same material on her quilt. It looks SO 1860 ish, especially since the doll these clothes are for is a sock doll that I made myself!
I will put the instructions on how to make a sock doll on here soon, if I  can find the book I got it from.
The book is called "The Diary of Carrie Berry; A Confederate girl" It was a real diary from when the Yankees attacked Atlanta! Carrie was only ten at the time.
It was very interesting, though very short.

I've found a link to a website where you can read it online:   Carrie Berry

My  VERY SWEET puppy, Roscoe D. Rascal !!!
I'm so glad I took  pictures when I did!
It's hard to believe that was only about two weeks ago when I took this!
How I miss my dog!

Interesting site!

Okay, I know this template is TOTALLY eye catching-it totally doesn't look like me at all!
I was really tired of the other one, so here is this.
The link to the website I got it from is on the left.
Check it out!
Oh, I somehow made a mistake on the playlist, so thats why I have that weird code above it.
I'm going to try to fix it though!

A "new" room!

Yesterday my mom and I decided that with all the garage sales we've been having, we needed to take a break. So we decided to take today off, and sleep in, not deep clean the house, (even though it probably could use it) etc.
I woke up this morning with a idea. My room really needed to be cleaned, and what a perfect day to clean it! So, I moved ALL the furniture, dusted the window sills, trim, cleaned under the bed, (oh, I couldn't believe I had that much stuff hidden under there, goodness!) and thoroughly cleaned it!
When I was done, I decided the way it was arranged( before I made it a total wreck by putting everything in the middle of the room, of course!) was very boring, so I tried about a dozen ways of rearranging it. I finally put the bed diagonal, ( a HUGE change!) and left everything else the way it had been before. I really should have taken "before and after" pictures, but Becca has been sleeping in my room, and sheds a ton, so my room was very hairy! Especially the window sills!
My room's clean now, and I sure am tired!
Here is a link for a website for home-decorating.
The book this lady wrote is very good!
You can find it HERE!
and read the book there also!

Dixie

Where I live, in the South,(right in the middle of  the Heart Of Dixie actually)most people love this song, (including me!) so I added it to my Playlist.
Here are the lyrics to the song "Dixie" , now playing on my Playlist:

Verse 1
I wish I was in the land of cotton, old times there are not forgotten,
Look away, look away, look away, Dixie Land.

Verse 2
In Dixie Land where I was born in, early on a frosty mornin'
Look away, look away, look away, look away, Dixie Land.

                               Chorus
I wish I was  Dixie, hooray! hooray!
In Dixie Land I'll take my stand to live and die in Dixie,
Away, away, away down South in Dixie,
Away , away away down South in Dixie.

Though I don't exactly agree with one thing in the song-"frosty".
In Mobile at least,  it sure isn't ever frosty!

Oh, I just found out that the song on my playlist has some other famous Southern songs, ones you hear at most re-enactments!

What has been happening lately!

I'm finally blogging again, after several days of crying about Roscoe being killed last week.
Here's an update of what we've been doing lately...

We went to a really good concert Sunday night!
The band's name was Worth Dying For.
They have very good words to their songs, and like I said to my mom today, they are just  "rocky" enough to suit me :)
To see some pic's of my friends and I with the band, check out Megan's blog !
The concert was in Jackson, Mississippi, so it took over 3 hours to get to the concert, including meals!
So, we got home at about 1:15 a.m. !

One of my friends and I had a garage sale at her house, and we ended up seeing each other 6 days in a row! ( though the 6th day was only about 15 minutes- we went to the concert together!) I'll be having a garage sale at my house this weekend, we have been  having LOTS of garage sales!

Oh, some people have said they can't comment on here-I'm trying to fix it, though I'm not sure what happened. I think it is fixed now!

33 miles concert!!!

I had a cold recently, so that's why there has not been any interesting  posts lately.
There hasn't been much to write about!
I do have one thing to write about and that is this:

Tomorrow my mom & I are going to a 33 miles concert!
It is at   Mary G. Montgomery  High School  and there will be some other activities also.
I think it will be fun to go to a concert!!!
I will post all about it, and hopefully put some pictures here also.
